Okay so Im playing catch up cause I just recently found your podcast and I have to admit I haveenjoyed myself listening but I have a bone to pick with you Adele. I love when you go on your rants and the fact that you dont like Frank Miller cause I thought I was the only one but I dont agree with you on how you feel about Jack Nicholson and then way he played the Joker. I think Batman and Batman Returns are great Batman movies and now you can add the Dark Knight cause I thought Batman Begins sucked. Let me break it down for you: Michael Keaton is a much better Batman but Christian Bale is a much better Bruce Wayne. Jack Nicholson was more of the crazy, wacky out of his mind joker which setup or the Heath Joker which was a psycho without a care in the world except destruction. Remember both jokers were based on 2 totally different comics. Also, before Heath did the joker he did speak with Jack to get his insight on playing this character. And Michelle Pfeiffer is the best catwoman there has ever been on tv. Yes her story on how she became the catwoman was a little crazy but still she was sexy, crazy and just awesome. So before you go hating everything in sight I thought you should know that first. Maybe you just need to watch those movies again. Now every Batman movie after Batman Returns was horrible.
Okay so I think Im am done with my rant otherwise the episode was quite good. Keep it up!!

First, thanks for checking us out and for liking it enough to listen to them all.

Second, you actually like my rants? lol I don't even like my rants.

Third, liking anything is pretty subjective. I own my dislike of Jack Nicholson in any role. Particularly Batman. I liked Michael Keaton fine but I didn't like the Joker or the use of Prince. That's my opinion, you are free to have your own. I personally like Batman and Robin for reasons unknown to myself, even though I admit that its a crapfest. Sometimes we just like what we like and hate what we hate. Case and point - I cannot stand Penelope Cruz - whether her face or unintelligable accent I don't know, I just can't stand the woman.

I choose not to wade into the murky waters of comparing Keaton and Bale. Look at where Keaton is 20 years later and think about where Bale will be in the same time frame.

Like you said, the source material in both Batman movies was different. The tone is different, the direction and set design is very different and the acting is different. Treat them differently.

Catwoman. I like Michelle Pfiffer but I don't like the direction that version of Catwoman was given. I do agree that she's been the best version of Catwoman on the celluloid but that isn't saying much. Crystal will kill me for dissing Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt. Eartha Kitt is a cartoon of her own making. I soley enjoy the Jeph Loeb take on the character. I am glad we agree on Frank grrrr Miller.

I might watch them again but I doubt my opinions will change.
